Opening Statement
During the July Crisis, Serbia was highly lionized due to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. However Serbia was unjustly criticized as Serbia played a smaller impact then most regions did during World War 1. Serbia was in fact a small force when compared to bigger countries like Germany and Austria Hungary. Austria Hungary was in fact the country who brought threat to the Balkan regions. Austria-Hungary was a country who seeked power in the Balkan region and did not see the effect or involvement it would have on other countries, therefore initiating WW1. Although we agree that most countries played a role in the initiation of WW1, Austria-Hungary has a greater role in the formation of WW1.

Although, some information may present that Serbia was the cause for the July Crisis during WWI, Serbia truly was not a factor as it was the actions of Austria- hungary that started WW1. Austria- Hungary's lack of information, goal of the Balkans and dependence upon Germany were key reasons why Austria-Hungary started the war and Serbia did not.
